Bernstein and Valencia. 22 stories about everything from being close to running away. Rahel Kraft, sound / Sybille Ciarloni, reading

A short spectacle of surrounding works without word-towers and within the reflections of individual passages, running through space and dream. Rahel Kraft (voice and sound poetry) and Sibylle Ciarloni (reading voice and simple torques) collaborate carefully and with full awareness of the complexity of drifting. The texts are from the story collection “Bernstein and Valencia” by Sibylle Ciarloni. Duration 60–65 minutes.

“Bernstein und Valencia” are 22 stories about everything from being close to running away. The stories are set in that very play between proximity and distance, existence and transformation. Grotesque plays, with obviously obscured facts rooted in reality. Lesung&Ton (reading and sound) is a mixture of performance and reading, where rooms have trapdoors, houses turn into mazes and we all are transformed into fish at that. Sibylle Ciarloni animates all sorts of creatures with her deep, calm voice. Rahel Kraft creates a fourth dimension with sampling, various items, and the timbre of her voice.
