The exhibition explores the interplay between biography, location, and artwork: How does a location shape thinking? How do artistic processes change over the course of a lifetime? And how can conditions of production be traced in the finished artwork? We are inviting to look at the artistic practice not only in terms of its outcome, but as an open process – as a space in which new forms and perspectives can emerge. This also involves reflecting on the artistic work process and how thoughts, decisions, and experiences are inscribed in the work itself – in material, form, or gesture. Each exhibited position offers a glimpse into biographical traces that intertwine with the specific spatial conditions of production: the studio, the surroundings, work rhythm, coincidence, or long-practiced routines.
